Responding to some residents requests to join a group of like-minded gardeners, we contacted them and arranged for those able and interested to meet up and carry out a few gardening improvements around the village. These projects were carried out between lock-downs in September/October 2020.
The first jobs included planting of snowdrop & daffodil bulbs and pansies in the War Memorial Garden, then planting up a new raised planter outside the cottage at the village hall – the site of our old swap shop!
The planter outside the Co-op was cleared of its old overgrown shrubs by Leicester Tree Care then planted up with plants donated by Coles Plant Centre. A plaque was commisioned from Sawfish Laser to commemorate our achievements and acknowledge our supporters.
