Saturday 10th May 2025 marked a very special occasion in our village, as over 100 residents joined the BAVG Volunteers at the village hall to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
The event was a wonderful mix of community spirit, music, and celebration. The Enderby Concert Band set the tone with a fantastic live performance, while guests enjoyed singing, dancing, a fun-filled quiz, and a delicious afternoon tea – complete with some celebratory fizz!
One of the highlights of the day was a beautifully preserved 1945 American Jeep on display in the car park, kindly loaned by a local resident. It proved a popular backdrop for photos and added an authentic wartime touch to the event.
We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to:
Enderby Concert Band for their uplifting music
Broughton Astley W.I. for the mouthwatering cakes
All our amazing volunteers and visitors who brought energy, warmth, and smiles to the day
It was truly a celebration to remember—thank you to everyone who helped make it so special.
